Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.

It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may overlook.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers many functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
